Shaw Group (CB&I), US DOE Savannah River Site, Aiken, SC, Equipment Seismic Qualification (ESQ), Mix Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF) or MOX to produce nuclear fuel, which will be a mix of Uranium and Plutonium. Performing seismic equipment qualification duties, including seismic qualification to IEEE STD 344, embed and base plate analysis, connection design, steel design, and component failure analysis. Performed seismic structural calculations and evaluations using applicable codes and standards like IBC, UBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC N690, AISC ASD & LRFD, AWS, SMACNA, ASME VIII, ASME B31.3 and others. Under the NQA-1 program performed, checked, and Design Verified (DVed) engineering design calculations for seismic civil/structural and mechanical items. Performed and reviewed pipe support calculations and FCRs. Provided field support and inspections for implementation of design changes. Reviewed and approved Vendor/Subcontractor Submittals.
